A number of councils around the UK are in the process of agreeing plans for housing developments that will include an element of self-build. The advent of Right to Build and the work of NaCSBA, pioneering councils like Teignbridge, and champions of self build like MP Richard Bacon, founder of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Self-Build, Custom & Community Housebuilding and Placemaking, appear to be having an impact all over England. (If you’re in Scotland, the Scottish Government website has some useful info on self-building for you here.)
