Standard Panel House Frame Description

Our closed panel houses are manufactured in sections in a Finnish factory and shipped to the UK. The following describes the main parts of the structure included in the shipment. The remaining elements of a turnkey build are sourced and supplied in the UK, using Scandinavian products where appropriate.

Standard House Frame Description

External Walls:

Timber framed panels variously sized according to house design 2.5m and 2.7m high, up to 11m long comprising:  

  • horizontal or vertical external 22mm timber weatherboarding or Knauf Aquapanel OutdoorⓇ render backing board. Where the house is to be brick faced, 11mm OSB and breather membrane are fitted. 

  • 30mm horizontal/vertical battens

  • wind barrier – 25mm fibre board

  • 198mm studwork with 198mm Paroc rockwool insulation material; vapour barrier

  • 42mm studwork with 42mm insulation, conduits for electrical supplies

  • 13mm tempered plasterboard (substituted by waterproof board in bath/shower rooms)

  • Doors and windows pre-fitted to panels

  • U value 0.15 W/m2K

Alternatively:

  • horizontal or vertical external 22mm timber weatherboarding or Knauf Aquapanel OutdoorⓇ render backing board

  • 30mm horizontal/vertical battens

  • Wind barrier – 25mm fibre board

  • 198mm studwork with 198mm Paroc rockwool insulation material; vapour barrier

  • Urethane insulation board 40mm

  • Vertical 30mm studs creating service cavity with electrical conduit

  • 13mm tempered plasterboard (substituted by waterproof board in bath/shower rooms)

  • Doors and windows pre-fitted to panels

  • U value 0.13 W/m2K

Internal Walls:

Non structural:

  • 66 x 45mm timber stud framework at 600mm centres

  • 50mm acoustic insulation

  • 13mm tempered plasterboard each side (waterproof board in bath/shower rooms)

Structural:

  • 95 x 45mm & 120 x 45mm studwork frame

  • 95mm/120mm insulation;

  • 13mm plasterboard for each side (waterproof board in bath/shower rooms)

Intermediate Floor

  • 22mm chipboard

  • Floor joists

  • 22mm ceiling battens @ 300mm centres

  • 13mm plasterboard

Roof

Pitched roof:

  • pre-assembled A frame trusses or alternative depending on roof type

  • construction designed for 500mm loose fill insulation

  • underfelt & battens for tiling

  • vapour barrier

  • 13mm plasterboard

  • U value 0.085 W/m2K

Flat/sloping roof:

  • Pre-assembled trusses designed for 500mm loose fill insulation

  • 17mm rough sawn sarking board

  • vapour barrier

  • plasterboard ceiling

  • U value 0.092 W/m2K

Doors

Kaski insulated panel external doors with triple glazed window lights (safety glass)

U value 1.0 W/m2K

Internal white panel doors supplied with silver chromed metal handles.

Windows

Skaala HPN 114 A 3K triple glazed windows, timber framed, powder coated aluminium clad.

Side hung casement, top hung outward opening or tilt & turn according to design

Larger windows non-opening.

U value 0.9W/m2K

Over door canopies in galvanised steel & safety glass

Balconies

Ready mountable pillars, posts and cladding

Pressure impregnated floor deck

Steel / pressure impregnated timber railings

Drip tray over entrance door (where balcony is open)

Internal

Timber staircase

Timber internal window sills & reveals

Loft hatch and ladder (where appropriate)

Appropriate Glulam/steel beams supplied for internal openings

All architraves, skirtings and trims

External

Galvanised and painted steel guttering and downpipes supplied

Timber cladding finished with alkyd primer coat (6 shades available)

All fascia boards, barge boards, door and window trims and corner trims supplied painted white.

Optional wall finishes

Self – colour acrylic render

Brick facing slips

Stonework

Foundations and load bearing drawings and information supplied

Construction drawings supplied for building control

Instructions and additional materials list supplied
